Glad to read that you & family are OK. Lots of freaky weather and other natural disturbances happening lately in the US. Of course this seems like a world-wide problem as well. Anyway, I've always wondered who does the marketing and suggestion advice for some of these model companies? Seems like the...

Tamiya / Italeri MC-200

Before I forget; Hello Vince how are you? Hope All is Well with you and your family and of course the model-building. Anyway, I went ahead and purchased one of those Tamiya / Italeri 1/48 scale MC-200s. I think this was originally a Hasegawa kit or did Hasegawa just provide the box & artwork. Either...

Large Scale Aircraft

To answer your question, I'd have to say that my "hanger & air space / ceiling" is now a bit crowded but I manage. The large die-cast aircraft I have mainly displayed in a big display case in my garage. The plastic models are displayed on wide utility rack-like shelves which you can get at most hard...

Wonderful Work & Thanks

What a Great Job you did on the JU-88! No doubt I will have a project in-store for me converting the future Revell-USA 1/32 JU-88 (unless of course there is an after market radial/cowling conversion / detail kit). On another topic, I noticed in the Squadron Mail Order catalog that SMER has reissued ...

Revell-USA 1/32 JU-88

Hello Squadron Comrades, hope all is well. Looks like Revell-USA is going to come out with a 1/32 scale JU-88 which will be a lot cheaper than the Revell-Germany one. I'm thinking of investing in one so I can convert into a radial engine version. The 1/32 BMW engines "should" not be a problem to get...

Thanks

Thanks guys for the clear-coat tips.
By the way; looks like paints and other hobby supplies will be going up along with the price of petrol.

The Roma

Yes, this will be a great ship model indeed. Hopefully there will be some decent after market detail parts for it since Trumpter's plastic they use to inject their molds with tends to be fragile, especially the smaller parts. An unpleasant experience I learned when I built the Trumpeter 1/350 scale ...

Thanks Vince

I'm hoping that Hasegawa will start producing 1/32 scale Italian WW-2 aircraft since they seem to be going to the larger scale kits. I pre-ordered a long-waited for 1/32 scale Mitsubishi J2M Raiden from them on Hobby Link Japan. Its supposed to be here sometime in June.

Italian WW-2 Battleships

Anybody got any info on the Trumpeter 1/350 scale Italian Battleship: Roma? This should be a decent kit, especially since there is so little done concerning WW-2 Italian naval vessels. At first glance, the Roma looks like an Iowa-class battleship and the USS Alabama. Very streamline design for a bat...

Airfix G.50

Now that was a blast-from-the-past kit. I made the Airfix G.50 along with that Airfix SM.79. I had to utilize my spare parts box to detail both kits out but the end products were not half bad. I also made the Airfix Aichi Type 99 "Val" and their Ki-46 "Dinah". Remember the Tauro Model Company kits? ...

Decent Clear Coats

Hello Vince and fellow model builders Been out of action lately due to flu bug and having to be admitted to the VA hospital, but all is well now. Anyway, to the topic at-hand; what is a decent clear coat to spray on models with a flat paint scheme that will both seal decals and still not appear way ...

Great Documentaries!

Great Documentaries Vince, glad to see factual / historical information and positive representation of the AXIS pilots / Air Crews for a change. Seems that they get too demonized these days by historical shows (History Channel, ect., ect.) and the movie industry. Italy, Germany and Japan had some ou...

WingScale 1/32 is a No-Go

While the subject aircraft of this topic are Allied, I'm sure others here may have either pre-ordered / were planning to get one of WingScale's 1/32 B-25s, B-17s or other aircraft in their line-up of future models. Unfortunately, WingScale won't be producing these 1/32 scale kits after all (details ...

Typical

How typical. I'm sure the Canadian Government like the US Government encourages it's citizens to not be wasteful / conserve resources, yet the powers-that-be in both countries seem to not follow the rules of their own game plan books when it comes to spending monies. Just think of the monies that co...

Canadian Leopards

Hello Vince; how are you? Yes, the whole M1 Abrams development history is interesting to say the least. I'm sure it has vastly improved from the M1 IPs w/ 105 mm cannon (Initial Production models) which we got when the Army converted from M60A3s to the new M1s. Personally, I didn't like the M1 at fi...
