Always good to see new Italian subjects... they've been a bit thin on the ground recently.

Looks like we will have to raid the decal spares bin for an Italian scheme unless other releases are planned.

One other future release I've heard about is Valom's 1/72 Campini Caproni CC2. One sure fire way to condemn the Delta2 kit to the modelling equivalent of Room 101!!

yep... there's a photo in there that proves the Ca.311 is indeed a re-issue (of the 1/72 kit). what a shame :-(

I've always wanted to see a 1/48 Ca.311 kit (how about a Ca.313/4 as well!), but what if it's really a typo error? Could it really be yet another 'limited' re-issue of their venerable 1/72 kit? I hope not!

really like the way you've tackled the fabric effect. thats just how I did it on mine. laborious, but definitely worth the effort. I've been told that the black camouflage for the night fighter scheme was some type of powder and had a very matt finish.

eyewitness accounts describe the sole re.2006 prototype as being in an overall yellow colour (zinc chromate?). only the control surfaces were camouflaged, just like the re.2005 prototype, was sported an overall pale grey (GAC?) finish on its first flight. allesandro bartelli's re.2006 IBN editore bo...

One possible way of finding more reference material is to try and obtain a back issue of SAMI magazine. Namely: Vol 12 Issue 3 (March 2006). http://www.sampublications.com/sampubs.htm In this particular issue there is an exceptional build by Cesare Pigliapoco of the 1/48 RCR Ba65 resin kit. Admitted...

If Italeri do decide to re-tool the Supermodel kit (not just re-issue it) I hope they read E. Leproni's notes in the back of Ali d'Italia's Z.1007 book about this model!

Interesting theories in this post and all quite plausible, especially with regards to the RE.2008, which I was not aware of before now.

The Ali d'Italia RE.2005 publication has a few interesting words to say about the RE.2007 designation. Reggianes chief test pilot of the time, De Prato, had never heard of a jet fighter design ... 'a fairy tale' were his words. There are no documents in the Reggiane archive to support Longhis RE.200...

One of the best G.55 models I've seen...

The scuff marks on the wing roots look very convincing.
