CANT kits or not!

Post by Dave Bayliss » Sun Sep 18, 2011 5:22 am

On the news section of the Italeri site they have been running a review on the Regia Aeronautica during the Second World War. This edition mentions and has a photo' of a CANT Z1007. However, frustratingly there is no mention of any possible kit coming out in the near future. Oh well, at least it proves that they are aware of the existence of this aircraft and we can still hope!

Hi Dave, do you have the link for this topic ? If we have the S.81 to go by, then a 1/72 CANT Z.1007 might likely be a new tooling as opposed to an update of the Supermodel kit.

Hi Vince, hope this works.

Italeri definitely don't mention any new kit, but as you say with the S81 they could hopefully update the Supermodel kit.

If you've been following the forum since its inception you'll know that the folks at Hasegawa visit and respond to posters wish lists as did Jules Bringuier of Classic Airframes, who was a regular contributor and on occasion the Italeri people do so also; although you have to wonder where they were with the color profiles of the 1/72 S.81 :)

I have to agree about the colour profiles for the S.81. Let's hope you're right about Italeri monitoring this forum. Perhaps they will get the hint that we could do with a decent 1/72nd kit of the CANT Z.1007. After all it was a more common bomber than the FIAT BR.20 and they do a very good kit of that.

If Italeri do decide to re-tool the Supermodel kit (not just re-issue it) I hope they read E. Leproni's notes in the back of Ali d'Italia's Z.1007 book about this model!
