Hi to all,
some months ago i started the building of this kit.
As you can image it is not a "weekend" kit and needs a lot of improvements and attention in parts fitting.
I started detailing cockpit and bomber compartment:

despite the kit includes resin parts, the detail is very basic so small parts such as levers, throttles and circuit brakers are scrath builded.
Another critical area is the joining of winshield and the transparent parts of the bomber compartment: i have spent many hours in sanding, filling and rescribing this area to reach a decent result:

the whole model has been riveted by Rosie-the-riveter:

that's all. Next episode will be the medified rudder and the wheel wells.

Hello Ferdinando,
Great work so far!
Will your model depict Buscaglia's Baltimore he died in?
Vincent.

Thanks to all for your comments.

The model will depict "Fiorellino" that is the best documented of the italian Baltimores and because the decals are included in the kit.
On the other hand i have no idea of how Buscaglia's Baltimore appeared or if it was a mk. IV or mk. V model...
Ciao

That's really excellent work Ferdinando. I like to put in as much detail as I can myself, so it's great to see what a good job you are making of this. I am looking forward to seeing further progress.
Dave. :)

Hallo,
i have spent the last months trying to complete this model and now i see the target.
The engines cowlings were wrong in shape and the halves did not match when the engine was in
Image
...so...surgery was the solution!!! Cylinder heads were reduced in height and the cowlings were thinned from inside:
Image
i added a thick ring of plastic to reduce the "hole":
Image
and modified the upper intake:
Image
this caused an extra amount of work and time...
Image
..in order to delete all the steps:
Image
the engine was simply completed with some wiring:
Image

now is time for painting (actually the model is almost complete

The model was painted using Italeri paints thinned with alcool:

and weathered using oil paints and pigments.

For today it's all.
