Just missed a 1/48 Z.1007 on Ebay . . . sold for $560 + shipping - I didn't realize the passion for these rare models was so high

The Alpha Flight 1/48 CANT Z.1007 is highly collectible because it builds into a very accurate model and also there just weren't that many manufactured. There are a couple good builds in the Gallery by Jean, Harvey and Angelo worth checking out. Try PMing Jean (D520) and see if he has a spare he's willing to part with.

Thanks - I will make contact. I think have arrived much too late to expect much with these long discontinued and highly desirable models ...

Ah - to find this model is not unlike the search for the perfect woman, hehehe.

But, I have been lucky as I already have found the perfect woman of my dreams and have been married to her for 26 years - So, finding this models should be no problem - it is like fishing - you must first put out the right bait (already done), then one must be patient and keep much wine & cheese close by to pass the time.

That's definitely one way of doing (ie., posting an ad and waiting), and its probably the best way to get a reasonable price. I'd also try some the folks in Italy that post on here Paolo Carli (Icepol), Luca Bossi (lb) and also check out Mr.kit:

and Italian kits:

Regarding the ItalianKits website. Unfortunately, my Italian is weak and only as good as my Google Translator - but get the gist of:

Italian Kits Mail Order è un nogozio online che effettua vendita per corrispondenza a privati solo in Italia con pagamento anticipato.

Seems they don't ship outside Italy?

But I decided to send them an email, download and fillout the modulo order form as well provide as my PayPal info. By the way, the Order form also states specifically in English "We do not ship abroad." So, I was not hopeful after I sent my email and order form with my Paypal info. After almost two weeks, there has been no response. The one item I found available for purchase that I wanted was the IKW4819 (ex RCR48017 1:48 Fiat Cr.25. So, I completed the order sheet and wrote in Italian requesting an exception to ship out of Italy to the USA. I also offered to pay some additional money for shipping and handling and forgo the gift that they are including with orders.

I understand, from the notice on the website, ItalianKits is shutting down their operations by the end of November, so I was really hopeful that they would respond in the affirmative. Perhaps someone knows of another way to make contact and arrange for purchase?

Regarding MisterKit - this is a very nice webstore. Everthiing that I wanted there, I ordered if it was in stock.

The hooks have been re-set with new bait, and I have cast an even bigger net, per the editors recommendations. Time to open another bottle of Moscato and enjoy what the new day brings.

Thanks for the update, I didn't realize Italian Kits was shutting down. They've been in business for a long time so I could see the owners retiring. In regard to out of country shipments, I completely understand as a vendor myself. Enjoy the bottle of Moscato :esmile:

Just to make the bait on the hook more interesting, the most recent sale on eBay for the AlphaFlight CANT Z.1009 sold for $560. I was was the runner up on that auction, which was excruciating to lose.

So, if someone isn't going to build that model . . . now might be a really good time to move that model to someone who will definitely build it and be e$p€ciall¥ appreciative.

If you deliver it in person - consider yourself my guest for the weekend. We can have some wonderful meals and view the magnificent Rocky Mountains from my hillside home and tell stories of more interesting times.

I think a fish must have taken my bait without me feeling the tug on the line . . . No fish today. I finished the cheese and two bottles of Moscato. I will come back periodically and check the waters from time to time.

I was able to catch a big Kingfisher - the 1/48 Alpha Flight CANT Z.1007 Alcione. So, patience has indeed paid off.

With the latest catch, the remaining fish become just two:

RCR/ItalianKit 1/48 Fiat Cr.25 RCR017
Alitaliane/SEM 1/48 Savoia-Marchetti SM.84 48002
