Anyone know what type of Vickers machine guns these aircraft were fitted with?

I thought I might try some Gaspatch ones on a Smer kit.
Thanks
Steve

Let us know what you find since it appears no one really knows which Vickers guns were used on the SVA5, but I'm sure the curators at Vigna Di Valle AF Museum would.

btw the second link above has contact information for the museum.

The MGs on SVAs were two common Vickers Mk.I, one at each side of the engine, set for air use and with a device for firing through the airscrew. Best references are in Windsock Mini Datafile no. 6 (Vickers guns), Windsock Datafiles no. 40 (Ansaldo SVA 5) and no. 130 (Ansaldo SVA fighters at war). I guess they're still available at the publisher.
Best regards
Stefano

Gentlemen
After reading my last reply,I think it is sharp and rude.
I did have family problems which resulted in the death of my Dad and all that entails.
However,Stefano.I do have all the Windsocks( No.40 is out of print but available here in the UK) but there is'nt a really clear picture of the guns,so I bought some Gaspatch Vickers which are far and away the best things I've ever seen.
The reasoning behind this being where I live,no one else models Italian 'planes, and I don't exhibit my models-I know the guns are'nt quite right but 100% better than Smer's blob of plastic..........
If my model turns out half as good as Davide's in the gallery,I'll be happy.
By the way the guns cost twice as much as the kit!
Thanks again
Steve

Didn't seem sharp or rude to me, not to worry. Sorry to hear about your dad. Post some pics of the completed model.
