What happened to the Sgt. after he force landed?
Presumably he became a POW?
Is his plane still in a museum somewhere?
Thanks
Steve

Salavadori's plane is at Hendon and he was taken by the British and interrogated:

Not sure where he ended up but it would be interesting to know.

Take a look here:

http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/falco_bob.htm

There is a very detailed and frequently updated report on Corpo Aereo Italiano (CAI) activity on the Channel.

as far that i know he was captured from the british near a costal village called orfordness and became pow.
his fiat cr 42 mm5701 run out of fuel after a prolonged combat with the raf
near harwich while escorting 20 italian bombers br20 the brithish lost 4or 5 hurricane/spitfires and 3 italian br 20 were shot down
contrary to some reports that claim salvadori s falco engine was overeating it is believed that he run out of fuel try to protect the bombers under attack from the r.a.f.

I may certainly be wrong, but I seem to recall that he joined the new Aeronautica Militare after the war and died in a flight accident while flying a jet.
