Hi Capitano,
Very, very nice!
I like the 205 in Luftwaffe markings.
Great job,
Vincent.

Thank you Vincent. I came across the great Hasegawa Macchi C.202/205 kit by reading a review of it on another website a few years ago. The box art from that kit #9133 is awesome. I had to have it. I could only find at the time though was the JG77 kit. Since then I have bought six similar kits. The more I read about this Italian gem the more I became intrigued with other Italian WWII aircraft. Some people like Bfs and Mustangs, I like Macchis and Fiats.

5th Contest Entry - Luboš Pavel

Post by Editor » Tue Dec 30, 2008 4:00 pm

Another terrific entry to this year's Smoke Ring Buildoff Contest comes from the great Czech Republic, Luboš Pavel with his beautful Hasegawa 1/48 C.202. The machine depicted can be found in "Regia Aeronautica Caccia And Assalto 1940-1943 Parte II" on page 39. Also, included is a photo of this machine shortly after its arrival in Egypt 1942. The “Wasp” unit badge isn’t yet painted.

Lu...wow...good eye. Looks like the same plane to me. Nevertheless still a nice piece of work no matter when it was built.

Well that does it for entries to this year’s Smoke Ring Buildoff! I think Gregory hit it on the button when he mentioned this contest won't be an easy one to judge - oh geez! The quality of the entries is superb, the best ever! I'll post a voting form in the coming days. Thank you to all the entrants.

AND THE WINNERS ARE ...

Post by Editor » Tue Jan 20, 2009 7:53 am

Well, what a group of entries! I think its enough to say that this years entries have been the best ever, by far, in terms of overall quality. The contest entries were unbelievable. As some of you know, I usually post a contest entry form and let all registered users submit their choices for the best entries. However, because the contest entries were superb, I've decided that each contest entry is a First place. I will be contacting the group of entrants shortly and each will receive a $40USD Stormo Gift Certificate. Thank you all for your comments and most importantly thank you to the contest entrants who treated us to some real works of art!

Vince,
I agree, with the quality of work entered into the Smoke Rings contest each one is a winner. With the first several entries I saw this would be very difficult to judge the best and I was correct. With the over all quality and craftsmanship shown here at Stormo I feel it's safe to say that here is where the BEST are to be found.Congratulations to all who entered this contest and a heart felt Well Done.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

Well Vince that is very very kindof you, and I truly appreciate this "remake of beau geste" BUT! I have a request. I would like you to dispose of my price and to offer it to a new member as a welcome gift when the number of your choice will be reached (ex the 200th inscription). Because I think one very important thing is to keep the Stormo spirit alive, and this will probably be in the way of my philosophy. My kindest regards to you and to all Stormo members. Love, jean.
