Fiat G 55, Special Hobby 1/72 work in progress.

Post by LazyCat » Mon Dec 21, 2009 11:08 pm

Kit is pretty accurate in shape but needs some work.
Wings trailing edge is incredibly thick, cockpit is missing few panels, has wrong armor plate (but in this one I’m living as it is) tail wheel well is wrong (a resin plug).
Exhausts are missing shrouds and so on.

So it is more of modeling than gluing plastic pieces together. :D

Great work so far! But you are going to raise some questions, with your yellow ZC interior...

I've missed that post. Very interesting. But the fact that "traces of yellow paint" have been found near the opening handle of the canopy still doesn't seem enough to speculate that the whole cockpit was that color. Anyways, yellow looks cool and to date no one can proof you're wrong! Conclusion: go ahead on your way and don't forget to show the progress!

More work to do - thinning wings trailing edge caused some problems

Giallo 8 is a hybrid and the tail is from Sottoserie 0.

Very nice. I have that kit and have been thinking about building it. What markings do you propose for it?

Thanks!

My subject is:

Looks odd enough for me :D

I have been taking break from it for a some time.

A word of advice: if you thin wings, glue them BEFORE gluing to fuselage - that way is more easy to deal with step created by this procedure.

1, 2, 3 TESTING, 123, testing...

Brown that's MM1, not MM2

The early camo seems unlikely (Lifecolor), to bright.

Plus test for Breda
