Re: RA use of fasces wing insignia

And thanks again for everything I'm learning here - I'm having a blast!

Ok, NEXT frustration - the only 20mm I have are the AerMacchi style. Checking the Stormo decals, it LOOKS like Aces Part I might have the ones I need. What do you think, Vince?

Re: RA use of fasces wing insignia

Thank you, Vince. Very helpful.

Would this information get lost somewhere in the Color Guide? I suspect would want to know this.

RA use of fasces wing insignia

Is there a definitive guide on the RA's use of wing insignia? For my 1/48th Fiat CR.42 I've concluded I need to use those with white backgrounds. But do I use the simplified fasces 2021-01-11_135837a.jpg , or the more elaborate 2021-01-11_134544a.jpg ? Do I use the Italeri ones at 19mm, or the SkyMo...

Re: Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete

Thanks, Chris;

I figured out the mistake I made in uploading my pictures, so next time I'll do better. I've started painting a Fiat CR.42.

Re: Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete

Ok, let's try this again!. My thanks to dogsbody for pointing out my mistake. Fortunately, because I was using the Vector wheelwell set, the fix was fairly "easy". https://i.postimg.cc/Vr2J00Rm/IMG-3317.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/67fsGkf3/IMG-3319.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/xXFndDgS/IMG-3321.j...

dogsbody:

Thanks for the catch! Not sure how I messed that up. Now the challenge: Can I go back and fix it?

And thanks for the link; I wasn't familiar with this.

Re: Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete - Part II

Vince, I've been doing research for the write-up and discovered 102º Gruppo transitioned from Stukas to Ariete while still operating over Malta. Would there be any way to determine whether this aircraft might have been involved in that operation? I would love to move it over to my "Malta" collection...

Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete

This is a 1/48th Reggiane Re.2002 Ariete (“Ram”) by Italeri (No. 2670). The model is finished with Model Master enamels and represent...

All I can say, again, is; "I'm impressed!" I'm disappointed we're not in the same general vicinity. I would love to be able to learn some of your skills.

Re: Fiat CR.42 over Malta

Some tips for modelers: colors of early CR.42s were officially named as havana (light tobacco brown) background, green and chestnut brown spots. Choose proper hues among CMPR and Vitocharts palettes. Here spots are very small and dense. Undersides were aluminium paint, not light gray as commonly be...
