Re: (WIP) Caproni Ca.100 FLY 1:72 - test
Beautiful job - expertly done. You've gotten very good at applying this camo, and in a very difficult scale 1/72 too. Write up a short review and an article for the Gallery.

Re: CR42AS 387-9 questions
Hi Jeff 1) GAC1. There are cases where the wing struts were camouflaged as the upper surfaces such as CR.42AS 21-1 at El Adem in September 1942 (this one carried a radio btw) or on CR.42CNs, the struts were blacked out. 2) The white fuselage band first appeared in North Africa in October 1940 as a "...

VIDEO: Breda 37 Italy's Forgotten Heavy Machine Gun
Below an interesting video by Ian McCollum at Forgotten Weapons . In this video Ian covers the Breda M37 heavy-machine gun, a good reliable weapon that often gets confused with the M30. Ian McCollum has written books and articles for Popular Mechanics on the topic of firearms and is located in the U...

VIDEO: Raid on Bahrain - Manama Refinery October 19-20, 1940
Below a two part video of the bombing of the Manama Refinery (Persian Gulf) in Bahrain by the Regia Aeronautica on 19-20 October, 1940. The raid was carried out by SM.82s striking the refineries at 2:20am on October 20 1940; then, the longest range bombing mission in history, covering approximately ...

Re: Movie "Comandante" with Pierfrancesco Favino
Here are two related videos to the movie Comandante , one is an old Luce film and the R.Smg. Tazzoli and its commander, submarine ace Carlo Fecia di Cossato. The second is a video by icunowlibra (Youtube CC), again the R.Smg. Tazzoli - captions are provided in English. The R.Smg. Tazzoli is credited...

Re: CANT Z-506
From foglio d'ordini 9.7.1936 - disegno ufficale del fascio alare grande (bombers) 1800mm, this is confirmed from drawings and photos. The other thing to consider is the style of fasce, the axe handle for instance on these planes (notwithstanding from which factory the plane was manufactured) was no...

Re: VIDEO: Frecce Tricolori and CF Snowbirds over Ottawa June 25, 2024
The Freece Tricolori are good ambassadors. I never seen two teams work together and I'm amazed at the coordination. They probably did not spend much time flying together and in one formation they do the arrow head or a full arrow, very cool.

Yes the top-side camo RLM 75 was applied freehand, below is the article posted a little while ago and it discusses the camo in some detail under "Construction":

Re: CANT Z-506
Here's a list of MM and corresponding Serie, unfortunately Serie XII is missing. I think you can say the Serie manufactured in 1942 and after had the 12.7mm guns installed. As you know, L'Arsenal made a resin 1/72 12.7mm Scotti MG.
