Thank you for your information! I don`t have that more comprehensive research reference you cited as I am working with my Ali D Italia #10. I figured there was more to the story.
Thank you again,
Jeff

Fiat G.55 Sottoserie 0 mm91064 questions
Hello, I`m building the 1/48 Special Hobby G55 Sottoserie 0 MM 91064 "Blue 11", and looking for answers to 2 questions: 1. Does anyone have pictures of this aircraft? I ask this because the upper wing ANR insignia is incomplete compared to the lower wing insignia. I do know of incomplete markings on...

CR42AS 387-9 questions
I`m building a CR42AS 387-9 in Tavola 10 colors in "lizard scheme" and I have some questions regarding this a/c. The Squadron CR32/42 In Action book page 38 shows this a/c. My questions are: 1. Are the interplane struts camoflage color like the uppersurfaces? I would say they are GAC and not uppersu...

Reggiane RE2001 358 squadron number colors
Looking through my Ali D'Italia RE2001 Vol 3, I have a question on squadron number color. The bottom photo on page 28 shows a RE2001 assigned to 358 squadron supposedly piloted by SGM Giovanni Dringoli. Is this Squadron number (358) in white, gray, or light blue? The squadron number doesn`t look whi...

Re: RE 2000 camoflauge profile accuracy
I was under the impression that the majority of RA individual aircraft numbers were in red. If that is the case the CR-42CN ac number and squadron marking background would be red because they look to be the same color. If the CR-42CN ac number is blue then the squadron badge background would be blue...

RE 2000 camoflauge profile accuracy
I am using Mr Terlizzi`s Reggiane RE200 Aviolibri special #6(among others) as a guide for my build of a 1/48 Classic Airframes RE2000. Page 28 lists a profile of a RE2000 serie II/III 377-5 in what looks to be in NC4 with dense VOS2 mottles with a black cowl. In addition the Squadriglia marking is i...

Macchi C.200 Serie II or Serie III 385-10 Dec 1940 ?
I have the Italeri 1/48 C.200 Serie II kit with the enclosed canopy. The kit provides markings for 385-red 10 in the standard Macchi factory "poached egg" camo pattern. According to my sources, 385Sq received C.200`s on December 9,1940. I assume that 385Sq received new production C.200`s on that dat...

Re: SM-79sil Color Profile Question
Thank you. That means the aircraft as new was probably built by Reggiane or Umbra. According to my references they had the majority of SM-79 production in 1942. I glad that you guys cleared up that profile information for me.

Re: SM-79sil Color Profile Question
Thank you for your observations. Looking at the photos in ADI #11 and Osprey profile #8 I agree with your conclusions. What really confused me was all the VOS base with GAC mottling online builds and profiles compared to the Osprey book profile. I also agree that one`s builds should be as accurate a...

Re: SM-79sil Color Profile Question
Thank you. I don`t have ADI #28 so I can`t reference your subject citation. I do have ADI #9, and 11 as well as the 2 volumnes by Dunning as references. So I take the Osprey profile errs in the application of the GAC frontal overspray. I noticed the Osprey profile shows the early model exhaust as we...

SM-79sil Color Profile Question
My question concerns the accuracy of a color profile in Osprey`s Combat Aircraft SM-79 Torpedo Bomber Units #106 located on page 40. Profile #20, aircraft# 253-8 of 104 Gruppo/46 Stormo mid-summer of 1942. This profiled aircraft sports a factory paint job with GAC painted camo frontal areas. How acc...
