I received it Monday, and I agree with you, great book! If I can suggest another book by Chris Dunning, Courage Alone, The Italian Air Force, 1940-1943, Hikoki Publications. It contains unit histories, orders of battle and a lot more...

The book that can help you is Ali straniere in Italia number one, on the Bf 109. But according to this book, the only desert coulored version were F-4 and G-2....
