Re: Allies not admitting planes shot down by the RA pilots
Hi Vince, I have another example taken from Nicola Malizia's book "Quelli Del Gatto Nero" roughly translated "The Black Cat Group". On the 9th of September 1942, Spitfire Vs of the 185th Squadron were approaching the Sicilian coast to attack the Biscari airport. An American pilot serving with the RA...

Allies not admitting planes shot down by the RA pilots
Hello All, I hate to flog a dead horse, but I feel this time I have to bring this up for discussion. I have a copy of Marco Mattioli's book, 53 Stormo, published by OSPREY Aviation Elite Units: 53 STORMO. The last chapter of the book is "The Last battles" and on page 113, a paragraph reads that on t...

Looking real good!
I have a limited edition print from Ernie Boyette.
Ugo Drago's BF-109 G-6
Identical colour scheme as yours.
The only difference is the spinner is white with a black swirly line.

Mystery SM 79 with Tail “Kills” Markings
Hello all, I picked up this book a long time ago while I was visiting in Italy, SIAI Pagine Di Storia (The history of the Savoia Marchetti Co.) As I was going through different pages I came upon the story of Italian Aerosiluranti Ace Giuseppe Cimicchi! He was quite successful as a torpedo bomber Ace...

Your Fieseler Fi 156 Stork looks amazing!
The detail and colors are great.
I always liked this aircraft and I think that it looks much better in RA livery than Luftwaffe!!

Re: Spanish CANT Z.506 colours
Hello, I might be able to shed some light on the colours. I have a copy of Postiglioni and Degli'Innocenti book: COLORI E SCHEMI MIMETICI DELLA REGIA AERONAUTICA 1935-1943 (COLOURS AND CAMOUFLAGE PATTERNS OF THE ROYAL ITALIAN AIR FORCE 1935-1943) According to the authors, the paint scheme for the Sp...

Re: Macchi C.200 over Malta?
Hello Richard,
If I were doing a Macchi 200 in the Malta campaign, my choice would definitely be The aircraft of Franco Lucchin!
He gained most of his kills in Malta with a Macchi 200.

The Breda and the Lockheed both look almost identical. Who knows, maybe there might have been some industrial espionage going on between the two companies!

Re: VIDEOS: Breda-Zappata B.Z.308 Airliner
Hello All, If you look at the period between 1930 and 1939, you will find that a number of Italian aircraft engineers either worked partly in the US or had some type of working experience with the likes of Seversky, Boeing, Budd, Waco aircraft, American Aeronautical Corp. Companies like Breda, Piagg...
