Know What Y'all Mean...

...always had "issues" building the 1/7nd scale Airfix Sparviero kit, too bad the Italeri one wasn't available during 1980s, absolutely would had loved building it then! The 1/50th Artiplast kit was on sale at a handful of Sacramento, CA hobby stores during 1960s, too bad didn't buy one, store away...

Oh Yes, Thanks For Pointing That Out!

The rudder is from an Aeritalia machine and ground grew painted over the rest of the cross. If you look closely verde overlaps some of the white. Middle C.200 photo cowing green mottle appears different as well. I didn't build any Italian model subjects with replacement parts painted in different c...

Ooopsie!

Here are some color photos of the C.200 (below). btw the patch on the G.50 forward rudder is white (part of a painted over CMASA Savoy cross) , and likely a CMASA built machine although its MM (? - not clearly visible but identified as MM.5947) says its an Aeritalia machine. Darn Vince! Didn't catc...

And In Closing, For Now...

Long-time up YouTube Istituto Luce documentary video of FIAT A-74 engine & G.50 factory production of late serie Freccias presumably in Tavola X colors. Though a highly staged production one must admire the craftsmanship of Italian laborers skilled & otherwise under trying wartime conditions, one r...

Yeppers...

...Trapezoidal bare metal patch on forward rudder certainly adds cred to bare or Alluminio-painted undersides on FIAT G.50s! This still capture from a 14 year old English-language montage YouTube video of wartime Italian fighters clearly shows color contrasts of an early production canopied Macchi ...

Hmmm...

...Critically looking again at period B/W & Color photos can now accept Alluminio undersides on most "Mimetico" FIAT CR.42s considering as well good number were built pre-war presumably before it became important to overpaint with neutral sky colors for making them harder to spot whenever turning a...

Woulda...Couda...

...Shoulda painted a "Mimetico" Cicogna model with metal, presumed Alluminio overpainted, undersides Vince, didn't appreciate till now some weren't repainted GM or GAC1. Offhand can't remember if I'd ever built any large camouflaged Regia Aeronautica Italiana model sporting Alluminio undersides, di...

Nice Spray Work...

Well done no overspary, it looks great and the color matching looks really good, VITO chart colors. When you're done applying the camo I would weather the panel lines to highlight detail. ...Too bad I didn't know about VITO Charts when resumed building Regia Aeronautica modeling subjects after fall...

Me Neither!

Thanks so much RetiredInKalifornia! I don't want to invade Kriss' space as he illustrates his work to us. I will only mention one book, written however in Italian, which I consider very valid for understanding the aircraft and therefore knowing how to translate it into a model: Il Gobbo maledetto b...

...You'd ultra-super-detailed that old Airfix S.79 model far, far beyond anybody had done towards end of the 20th Century, heartfelt congrats sir! I remember scratch builders producing marvelous airplane models during the 1960s, one supremely gifted though sadly now long-dead man making a diorama o...

Very Nice Italeri Macchi C.200 Build...

...Too bad I'd not routinely built larger than 1/72nd scale airplanes, never had storage space for anything larger considering I'd have dozens of builds on display where I'd lived alone or with my late folks house here in Cameron Park (person I'd sold it to on November 19, 2015 died on January 20th...

My 1/72nd Scale Build Of 364 - 7

This of the ancient Revell USA or UK kit build c.2011 per SKYMODELS Decals painting instructions excised & enlarged off photo taken September 24, 2017. Obviously Mimetico didn't check whether should had been in Tavola X colors, no "investment loss" considering small scale & inaccurate moulding but ...
