Excellent work on, what is for me, one of Regia Aeronautica's most interesting aircraft.

I've somehow ended up with three of these kits and couldn't help but notice the turret on the clear sprue which suggests yet more versions in the near future.

Yes, I have built quite a few Choroszy kits, mostly for SAMI. They are very nicely moulded, full of petite fiddly detail parts and are, on the whole, quite accurate. They have covered more Italian aircraft subjects than any other company I know of, with over 40 in their catalogue. They have always b...

I got mine from Hannants (could not locate a US dealer). Although it's the unarmed 'late' variant, the main parts are of the 'early' model, with extra parts supplied for the deeper radiator & front fuselage section and two water tanks for the top wing.

I had not been to Telford since 2007 and it was good to see a wide selection of Italian based models on display this time... there were very few in 2007!

Good choice of schemes to try on the Silver Wings Cr.32 kit, especially as the decals are not that great. I've been raiding my decal bank to come up with alternatives, but this article might help decide once and for all. Particularly like the silver machine with what looks like daubed paint all over...

I-11 (I-BIMU) had 'Istres-Damasco-Parigi' with '1 arrivato' centred underneath, as seen on page 36 of ALi d'Italia 28. It is assumed that I-13 (I-FILU) would have been the same, except it should have '3 arrivato', being that it was the third to arrive! I-13 was re-registered as I-BRUN for the Rome-R...

The book on the table shows pages 88-89 of Chris Dunnings 'Regia Aeronautica' book (subheading: The Italian Air Force 1923-1945 - An Operational History). All profiles in the book are by R Caruana.

The one positive of the Trumpeter kit is its availability, as both the Flashback & CA kits are less easy to come by these days. At least there are plenty of online articles on how to 'improve' the Trumpeter kit. Check these two out: http://www.internetmodeler.com/2003/november/aviation/trumpsm79.htm...

The extra detailing in the wheel wheels looks terrific! What kind of references did you use, or is some of it 'educated' guesswork?
