The wing armament, and larger oil cooler, are visible on some of the Silver Wing profiles, so I'm assuming these parts are catered for. The other points are 'minor' corrections, which could be tackled by the modeller. I could always get my 1/48 Cr.32 decals scaled up to 1/32! Who would be interested?

a2zeemodels.co.uk, who are the main UK stockist for Silver Wings models, have the 1/32 He.51 and Fw.44 kits listed at £115 (€130) each. Not cheap, but they are very high quality resin models (as good as Rest or Vector, in my opinion). Check out the images in the SilverWings gallery in this link! htt...

Very interesting... I've looked on Amazon's UK site and is there to pre-order, which I have done. Sorry if I appeared to be a bit sceptical.

Although not exactly the same as the description Amazon gives for Courage Alone, it says pretty much the same thing.

I do not understand. Why should he publish yet another book about the same subject? That is to say, the Regia Aeronautica 1940-1943. I see it has a subtitle "A Combat History". Isn't that what 'Courage Alone' is all about?

I have a strong suspicion that it's the same as this book: http://www.amazon.com/Courage-Alone-Italian-Force-1940-1943/dp/1902109090/ref=pd_sim_b_2 ... which is a revised re-issue of this book, which is OOP: http://www.amazon.com/Courage-Alone-Italian-Force-1940-1943/dp/1902109023 Apart from being t...

Thanks Aeroal & Jean for your colour mixes. I've taken a break from Italian subjects to work on Azur's 1/32 MB152. I've used WEM colours for the top camouflage... and I'm hoping these colours are alright. They 'look' OK to me but, rather like Italian colours, they can be open to interpretation!

Thanks, I'll try that. I've got a bottle of XF-19... just need to get some XF27.

Does anyone know a good match for French WWII aircraft lower surfaces, using either Tamiya or Humbrol colours? Maybe Jean can answer this one!

Interesting posts... but it looks like I will have to stick with WEM's GAC. None of the other brands mentioned in these posts are available in the UK.

I've never been absolutely certain what is the correct shade for GAC, so I use White Ensigns enamel. Other recommended paints (including acrylics) mentioned here and other forums are not readily available in the UK.

Grigio Azzurro Chiaro?

After looking at the images of Jean Barby's nicely done Me109, I could not help but think... why does Grigio Azzurro Chiaro NOT have a slightly blueish hint as it's name would suggest? All tinlets of GAC and published colour notes I've seen all seem to suggest that this colour is poorly named!

A few years ago, I sent an email to the RAF Hendon museum to find out if anything could be done about the amateurish scheme on their Cr.42. In their reply, they had a fairly good reason for not being able to do much about it! The large doors that allowed aircraft to be installed in that part of the ...
