VIDEO: The Skyjacker That Got Away: D.B. Cooper

OFF-TOPIC

For all you D.B.Cooper fans, below is the fascinating story of D.B. Cooper, the man who committed the most spectacular and the only unsolved sky-jacking in US aviation history, on November 24, 1971. There is a weak Canadian link to this story although D.B. Cooper was likely (former) US Military-Special Forces/CIA.

This is the National Geographic documentary that was first aired in 2009 and was released only a few weeks ago on Youtube which isn't the best documentary on this subject but it is National Geographic - its polished and professional, although I don't agree with its conclusions.

There are other documentaries worth watching such as:
1) The Search For D. B. Cooper - this documentary is probably the best to date:

After 45 years, the FBI finally gave up on this case in 2016 although the FBI is still accepting new information.

Although off-topic this is a fascinating aviation story worth knowing about because of its daring, the skill and planning involved to execute against the odds, the coolness under pressure and the sheer guts of it all. For the modeler Airfix has a 1/144 kit of this plane and I believe there's an aftermarket sheet for North West Airlines 727-51 (-100) N467US, markings and serial number so if someone built this model, please do post it here!
