Nardi 305 1/48 Special Hobby - decal emergency

Post by Maxidad66 » Sun Jun 29, 2008 11:07 am

Hi everyone,
My first post here on Stromo and it's a request (sorry  ).

As I was applying the last decal on this kit it pinged into an open pot of thinner ruining the decal. Does anyone have a s pare set? The decal in particular is the red "11" from the fuselage. See box for reference:

Hope you can help.
Thanks

Try pm'ing Davide alias Starflyer, he's likely to have a spare set.

Did you manage to get the decals you needed?? I just finished my Nardi FN.305 but I did a different version.

Send me an e-mail if you still need the code letters.
Just build it!

Yes, of course!

I'll post a couple of pics when she's finally done (which is very soon).

It's not quite as good as that - obviously - but I'm very proud of it nevertheless, as it's my first Italian camo job.

Unfortuantely I have no other Italian planes in my stash at the moment (I have a very small stash).

However, I must say the Italians went to war with style! They have some of the sleekest aircraft and creative colour schemes of WW2.

There is a group build on another site for Interwar Years, and I would like to build an Italian aircraft for this. I have to say the Cant Z.501 made by Rick Chin in the gallery is just superb and I'd like to do something like that. But that's not a pre-war scheme is it? Can anyoine advise a really smart plane from this period (the kit for which would not be too expensive).

The anti-camouflage radial red stripes were in fact a pre-war scheme used to help indentify crashed aircraft over large expanses. If you'd like to do a similar (attractive) scheme, you might consider the old 1/72 Supermodel SM.81 (a very nice kit) used in Abyssinia.

There must be some kind of Nardi fever as I just finished mine. I'll post some pics later.
Just build it!

Look forward to seeing it. I'll wait until the last decals arrive before I post mine.

Decal emergency over!

Post by Maxidad66 » Sat Jul 19, 2008 2:55 pm

I want to thank Jose Lucero for the decals which I got this morning. (Thanks to Davide as well, although I did not need his decals in the end).
Well here are pictures of the completed Nardi - it may not be as impressive as the others posted on this site, but I am happy with it.
