Hi Adam:
Absolutely beautiful! This is going to be an incredible project, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished aircraft.
Why is there so much modelling talent in the Czech Republic? Is it something in the water? (Does that also account for the wonderful Czech beer? Pilsner Urquell 8, yes!) 8)
Ciao! Patrick

Thanks for your remarks, everyone.

There are places where the cockpit could have been made more realistic, but they will have to wait for another day and another model. It's a good excuse to do a Folgore in the future.

To Patrick: See my second post in this thread. I am originally from the United States and am in my tenth year of living abroad. I cannot explain the amount of modelling talent here, but I certainly am glad to be able to see the models in progress on the Czech/Slovak Model Forum and to be a student of this "school". P.S. Gambrinus is the preferred beer in our household as it is cheaper than Pilsner!

To Mirek: Do you mean E-Day 2010?

Kind regards,

Adam

To Adam,

yes :D on E-day 2010. This year will be probably "fertile". Honza Kotas working on four models (for example Fiat CR.42 and Re 2001), Lubos three (Mc 205, G.50 and BR.20) I also add something and our friends promised to us SM.79 at 1:48 and SM.81 at 1:72.

Mirek says E-Day 2010, so here is a little pre-spraying-season effort, my work-in-progress landing gear "prototipo".

Through trial and error (mostly error), I have arrived at acceptable proportions for the two pieces cut from plastic sheet. These will be reproduced
in brass and have holes drilled in them to allow the brake line to pass through. The third piece is unadulterated Eduard and the top piece is
modified Eduard from the Veltro set.

Kind regards,

Adam

I'm sorry to say it looks like my Veltro will not be finished by the Czech E-Day. As a matter of fact, at this point I can say that it may never be finished at all.

My last attempt at getting the scribing behind the cockpit right was the worst yet, and has put me over the edge with this plane. My patience, unfortunately, has officially run out. :x

The cockpit turned out well, though, and gives me hope that I may one day build a model airplane that looks presentable (as long as it requires no scribing).

Now where did I put that Ducati?

Kind regards,

Adam

Hey Adam, don't give up!
I HATE to rescribe panel lines my self... but there is no way around it!
Fill lines with CA and try again.
Good going so far!
Wait, watch, listen, then pounce!

Hi Adam,

I agree with Honza, it's a hobby and not a "life" . Please try Macchi finish ...

Thanks for the encouragement, folks. I am not suicidal about the plane, just fed up. For the Czech forum participants I can sum up my feelings this way: Já se z toho poseru!

I will still probably attempt to work on the landing gear and other details, just to have the experience and practice, and then take another crack at scribing the hatches. In the meantime, I have a Zero and a Mig-3 that I haven't managed to ruin yet. :)

Kind regards,

Adam
