Dewoitine D-520

Post by Luftwoller » Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:57 am

Hi all, heres another Italian beauty i built a while back. The kit is from a company called LTD (Limited). Although this is a short run kit it can be bought up to scratch with a bit of extra work. The kit itself has some fine recessed panel lines and with the addition of an etched set from Eduard (For the Tamiya kit)the cockpit comes out pretty nice.
My reason for buying this kit in the 1st place was my finding a great picture online. I forget where,

I used spare decals to make up the markings. Heres a couple of build shots and the finished article,

The kit and the etch set didnt come with a gunsight for the D.520, so i scratched the crazy looking thing,

Sorry for all the pictures. All comments welcome,

Beautiful work Guy! I've always liked this fighter, particularly in RA colors. Please send in article for the Gallery. Thanks for your post.

Great work!!!!!! Specially with those LTD kit... I have two at home and they are quite challenging to build.

The accuracy of this kit is... very poor. Having the Tamiya one now is more than one could have asked for, even if this one in not flawless either;Nevertheless it is good to have fun with the LTD kit! Regards, jean.

It looks absolutely fantastic. The cockpit is amazing! I also love the subtle weathering.
