Great work! Your article inspired me to buy another D-520 kit so I can put it in Italian markings too (someday ...)

Best wishes,
Brendan

D520 colors

Post by Rick » Wed Aug 13, 2008 3:33 am

I want to highlight a detail about D520 markings: the disposition #549C/CAT dated 14 Novmber 1942 stated that " only those airplanes that have 0.50 meters white bands around the wings and the fuselage and the low part of the nose in yellow are authorized to fly";
So I think that some RA D520 wore this marking in the lower part of the nose and this detail is visible also in at list a photocolor, even if I think that not all RA D520 had the nose so painted

Thanks Riccardo. Are you suggesting the bottom of the nose should be painted yellow ?

Hi Elias,
I used Gunze Colors as usual.

On the bottom C308 Gray FS36375 and on the top C340 Field Green, C41 Red Brown and C337 Grayish Blue FS35327. For the overpainted places I used again C337 Grayish Blue but with a little C116 RML66 Black Gray.

Best Regadrs
Lubos
