D520 Spinner

The instruction n°418-C/DAT dated 24 June 1941, above referenced, stated also that the spinner had to be in red, so I think that the D520s that had worn the red and yellow strips had the spinner in red; I think that the used yellow wsa the French one, but this is only a supposition.
I attach a photo of the D520 coded 20, included in the Regia Aeronautica; the lower part of the nose appears in light grey in this b/w photo, with sharped edge; What is the color? Why the Italians would not have applied the disposition to flight over the French territory, with the risk to to be recognized by the Germans?
