Re: Retired In Kalifornia's Italian Aircraft Model Builds In Progress Photos
RIC,
You might consider making vents an easier way. Please accept this in the light as easier for you, I do not want you to think it is a better way than yours. The way I did it was to get a piece of spru, cut it to length. Then I flattened one side. With my Dremel tool, I reduced it to the dimensions needed. I then mixed a small amount of mill put. This was formed into the shape of the intake. The Holly difficulty I had was I did not have any drawings to ascertain the proper dimensions. Hope this is useful to you.

Thanks For The Advice...
...Photos of your Z.506C model build et.al., sheet plastic & left over sprues of Italeri kits is all I've got to fabricate air ductwork using simple tools ala X-Acto blades, files, tweezers Tamiya & Testors hobby sandpaper, gonna take all day today doing so. My nerves near gone trying to finish up last-ever model kit builds whilst following gravest national crisis here since 1860-65 Civil War, another snapped last night when old SUPERMODEL Z.506B circled red cross decal totally disintegrated whilst in water bowl, cold weather here ain't helping matters either, likely won't finish last build (Italeri C.202) till after January 1st.Vincent Fiore wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 10:21 pmRIC,

I am sure the finished product will be another one of your great builds! Looking forward to seeing the finished product. As for the tragedy happening to our great country, I am glad I am an old man and will not live long enough to see its final destruction. The thieving democrats are below contempt. If I were a young man I would form a militia to guillotine all the thriving Demorats! God bless America!

Hope It Will Be...
...Not started fabricating air ventilation ducting yet, too rivited watching Michigan Senate Oversight Committee election fraud testimony on Right Side Broadcasting Network (One American News also doing gavel-gavel coverage, FOX News AWOL); we're on verge of Civil War here, not afraid so much as angry; am 69, DO wonder if I'll make 96/94 ala Dad/Mom?!Vincent Fiore wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 9:03 amI am sure the finished product will be another one of your great builds! The single-engine Caproni Ca.111 was a long-range reconnaissance aircraft & light bomber derived from the tri-motor Ca.101, first flown in 1932 two prototypes & 152 production aircraft were produced. The late 1990s 1/72 scale BroPlan MS-76 model kit with vacuform & injected plastic parts is the only one in any scale to date:
Considering its my last-ever vacuform plastic model kit build progress reporting will be made here and on the Beyond The Sprues website.

Beautiful work, Richard. I am really impressed.RetiredInKalifornia wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 6:15 pm...Model complete, see photos above. Will compose articles after completing the Italeri Macchi C.202 end of this month or first of 2021.
Say, are your a member of IPMS and/or a local chapter? I'm surprised I haven't regularly seen your work in the Journal or a chapter newsletter.

Thanks To You As Well...
...Was paying member #15018 c.1980-91 when quit the hobby for second time (1963-69 was first); Silverwings is IPMS Sacramento chapter, number of same old tired leadership people still there when entered my Breda 28s February 2020 contest, first since 1991 BTW, EZ Line threads broke off whilst transporting them, didn't know that, auto disqualification, lost out to somebody's 1/72nd FIAT CR.42.davenport49 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09, 2020 7:37 amBeautiful work, Richard. IPMS Biplanes contest category is tough made worse by it being ALL SCALES both at Sacramento & Fresno meets I'd participated in last couple years automatically making it difficult for 1/72nd & smallers to compete, number of very well done WWI biplanes both places. FIAT CR.42 at Sacramento contest wasn't a terrific build IMHO, methinks its "who you know judging" considering most were WWI biplanes and my Bredas only others not WWI.
If I participate in any contests again will enter my Choroszy Modelbud biplane Caproni 100s (Idros should be winners) or one of my vacuforms (not the SM.95, crooked tailplanes auto disqualifier), model meets indefinitely COVID nixed near everywhere, 2022 earliest may do so.
