Always appreciate others modeling skills, back to Kriss' build progress, he'll do a great job on his! RichardBruno P wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 8:55 amThanks so much RetiredInKalifornia!
I don't want to invade Kriss' space as he illustrates his work to us. I will only mention one book, written however in Italian, which I consider very valid for understanding the aircraft and therefore knowing how to translate it into a model: Il Gobbo maledetto by Spaggiari - D'Agostino.
Bye

Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
With a small interlude the work continues, preparation for painting. But with this interlude I will boast because such an interlude is a challenge and a very big one. I had to postpone everything for the express construction of the Polish aircraft TS-11 "Iskra" in 1:72 as a birthday present for the pilot who made his first flight on it.
Thanks colleagues for the photos and links, but this model is going straight out of the box and will be closed and here I will focus on the camouflage. And this more open one will be from the new release from Eduard. It is waiting for me to collect it already in the shop. On this one from Eduard, I'm only going to get the hang of it.

Good work!!
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
Playing with tinsel goes all the way.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
The arming of tinsel continues.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
Undercarriage flaps replaced with new sheet metal. Still a torpedo and it will be possible to start playing with the camouflage.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
Great attention to detail.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
A bit of fun and the torpedo including the mount is almost ready, one will be suspended and the other on a trolley. This is my plan. And here I have a small problem, namely how to paint the torpedo? I'm asking because I have several different versions and I don't know which is the correct one. And the next problem is does anyone have drawings of the transport trolley for the torpedo? I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks for the materials provided. The white stripe on the fuselage painted and masked and I did the same with the underside.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
Base on top laid and now it will be fun to play with camouflage.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
The beginning of the game, this is the moment I always enjoy. Painting freehand without masking or stencils. By the way you can see my mess on my makeshift workshop. I am waiting for the end of the renovation at home to move to an already normal workshop.
Re: S.M.79 - II "Sparviero" 1:48 Trumpeter
Beautiful job, it looks great. A good way to apply free-hand is by using a pencil, drawing the mottles and then filling-in using your airbrush.
Re: S.M.79 – II „Sparviero” 1:48 Trumpeter
This kind of camouflage not yet finished but already happy, I still have some left to finish.
Thanks for the hint with the pencil I use but not always.

Well done no overspary, it looks great and the color matching looks really good, VITO chart colors. When you're done applying the camo I would weather the panel lines to highlight detail.
