1/48 Dewoitine D.520 in Italian Service

Between my last project - Macchi Mc.202 and my next project MC.205 or Cr.42 Falco I've started to build my third italian plane. I choose the Tamiyas' Dewoitine D.520 in my favourite scale 1/48 although I haven't got any decals for this project.

I have to apologize to you for poorer photos but my camera is a bit out of order.

Looking good so far! Tauro has a decal sheet with D.520 markings on it, if you're having trouble finding markings.

Best wishes,
Brendan

Well GAJounette,
I can promise you the next italian plane would be MC.205. I plan to build it with true Details resin set as well in the case of my MC.202. But I have to finish this italian D.520 for the Italian SIG planing for the E-Day exhibition at first.

Hi Lubos,
If you are looking for a specific plane to model, why not choose Vittorio Minguzzi's D520 he flew in the defense of the homeland.
He was was one of the highest scoring Italian Aces and had one kill, a B24 Liberator, flying a D520 with the 22 Gruppo based out of Capodichino on March 1st, 1943.
This would make an interesting subject.

Hi Vincent,
thx for your tip. I haven't any decals for my D.520 so I can make my d.520 in any marking which I would want. I have scan of the publication 05 - Ali Straniere in Italia - Aerei Francesi but I didn't found the photo of the Minguzzi's D520. Do you have any photos of his machine?
Ths in advance.
Lubos

Hi Lubos,
Unfortunately, I do not have any photos, but I have info on the Planes that were used by the 22 Gruppo in 1943
22 Gruppo, 359 Sq.: MM413, MM421, MM451, MM503, MM508, MM516 and MM522.
Hope this helps,
Vincent.

I've took off the Macchi C.205 from my "store" on my work bench and started the preparations for its building. My Veltro will be in gray scheme. I hope it would be liked as much as my 202.
