Hi Claudio pictures and movie in link are from 1945.

According with book "Aeronautica Italiana Caccia & Assalto part III"
original paints Spitfire from RAF was Middle Stone, Dark Earth and Azure Blue (tropical scheme). This schema was repainted in Early 1945 (for standard European schema).

Great model Mirek, but a) what is the scale and b) is the 51st Stormo unit badge on the tail a decal or your own work? I am hoping to make a model of this aircraft myself using the Italeri 1/72nd kit, but although I have decals for the badge they are of the larger fuselage side size.

Hi Dave

a) scale is 1/48

b) 51st Stormo badge is a decal from Tauro sheet

Hi Dave,

Good choice for using the Italeri Mk Vb Trop; just please note you will have to scribe in the wing root panel line, which is strangely missing from the fuselage of the kit.

On Tauro sheet 72/552 you will find the right sized squadon badge as well as numbers to make an Italian machine. Sheet 72/550 will provide the various roundels.

Specialist retailers such as Misterkit should be able to provide both sheets.

Grtz

Peter

Thanks for that Mirek. Looks like I will have to wait for more 1/72nd decals to come out or attempt cat and mice badge myself!

Mirek, again a beautiful job, however I may be misinformed but should the cameo have hard lines ? I believe the English use rubber mats as masks when applying there cameo. If I am wrong please correct me. vincent

Hi all, I went to Misterkits and obtained those Tauro decals, but I must say the Skymodels decals I got at the same time are better quality for the Stormo badge. These were on the decal sheet for mc205 Veltro. So I will probably mix and match on this build. That's when I can get round to it! Of course I have to build the Veltro too and I have to finish the mc200 Saetta I am building now!
