Special Hobby/RCR/Hasegawa 1/72 Macchi C.200 Saetta kit-bash
Some in progress shots. Base kit was the Special Hobby "bubble top" version. Prop, some photo-etch and hump from RCR kit (black styrene). Tail wheel, tail planes, main gear doors and upper main gear legs from Hasegawa C.202. True Details C.202 cockpit fudged to represent C.200. Decals from ALPS except for fascia in front of cockpit and heraldic arms on tail cross which were from the Hasegawa C.202 also. Squadron vac canopy cut apart.

Finished photos
Painted to depict the aircraft on the cover of the old Revell kit box-top. First kit I built as a kid - the one that got me into the hobby at age 5. In hindsight, the fuselage band is too wide.

Thanks to all. Not to sure how much more you will see from me. While I have a lot of Italian aircraft (multiples of Viper, Tornado, Spillone, Ghibli, Tifone, Harrier, etc), I only have a CR42, Fiat G50 and possibly S2C-5 (all in 1/72) which will fall into this category. The CR42 and G50 are virginal, but the S2C-5 is nearing paint, although it is probably outside the scope of this forum.

Very nice. I like that paint scheme. I do have a qoestion, but not about your work.
The ring around the front of the engine cowling, I know is the oil cooler. I was just wondering if the inside of the cowling lip should be the same metallic colour?
I don't have any good pics showing this, so that's why I ask.

Good question, the color is GAC, see the C.200 at Vigna di Valle AF Museum in Rome (link):
