Someone has very deep pockets.With the popularity of soccer in Mexico,you would think soccer in L.A would be bigger.I remember when Pele was brought to N.A,wonder what he got.

I think it was a little more, I believe $275M USD over five years- and I agree, someone's got deep pockets. When the NY Cosmos brought Chinaglia, Pele and Franz Beckenbauer to the NASL, I don't believe they carried salaries on the same scale as todays athletes. Bringing Beckham to North America is a good idea, but I don't believe its enough. The MSL will need to attract more players of that calibre. Toronto FC sold 1000 season tickets in one day on this news.
