Ciao tutti,
My next project will be an Fiat CR42 of 97a Squadriglia during the early part of the desert war. I am fairly sure of the right general camouflage and spinner colour, but I have three different colours for the flash on the wheel spats from three different sources. Chris Dunning (in Courage Alone) gives it as red, my Skymodels decal sheet for Fiat CR42 (in 1/48th scale) gives it as mid/dark blue and Hakan Gustavsson and Ludovico Slongo (in Desert Prelude/Operation Compass) give it as black. Which colour is correct or were there different colours for different flights of the same squadriglia?
Cheers, Dave.

Hello dave, regarding your questions, I had the chance to talk with former 97^ Sq. crew chief that confirmed for his Sq. the Azzurro (light/mid blue )colour.
