Verde Prato Anticorrosione

Post by noelvt » Thu Apr 29, 2010 6:41 pm

Please pardon me if I'm rehashing an old subject, but Verde Prato Anticorrosione is rather new to me, and I'm looking for a bit of clarification. Was the use of Verde Prato Anticorrosione limited to Reggiane aircraft, or was it used by other manufacturers as well? Furthermore, where exatly was it used? Cockpits, wheel wells, structural interiors etc, or simply and yet another coat of primer? I'm currently working on Italeri's much-maligned 1/48 Re.2002, with a Classic Airframe Re.2001 on deck.

Cheers,

Vince Noel

With reference to the CMPR-GAVS-GMT books the anticorrosion green used by Reggiane is identified as FS 34227, but also it is reported that on several part of the RE2000 and RE2001 structure a verde prato similar to FS 34230 has been identified, in detail this latter color is present on RE2000 fin and on the ammunition boxes of thr RE2001; concerning the previous mentioned color it is referred as FS34227 at page 66 of the above mentioned book, while for a typing error this is referred as FS 34272 in the color summary table at page 122; I tried to solve the problem prepairing a chip as suggested, using Humbriol 78 and 34 in equal parts: the result is a color similar to FS 34227, so the 34272 is in my opinion the typing error
