Patience has paid off and the long wait for the SEM SM84 is over and has been purchased - awaiting its arrival. Only one fish WWII fish left.

Glad you were able to find it, its an improved Alitaliane kit that a number of people have built on this site. Post your work when you get started on it.

Thank goodness I'd built number of the Italian Kits models, those by SEM et.al. defunct makers when were available! Long before I'd retired from model building in 2020 several kit makers & hobby products suppliers had gone out of business; Italian aircraft subjects never were widely popular with modelers but the more famous e.g. FIAT G.55, Macchi C.202, Reggiane 2005, Savoia Marchetti S.79, etc. hopefully will continue to be available in various scales for sometime to come.

Lucky You!

I'd missed out buying SEM's 72021 SM.84 wrongly believing their be another release, oh well! SEM I think also produced a 1/72nd scale S.79 kit, if so missed out on buying it also! Their 1/72nd Macchi C.204 kit was delight to build, too bad SEM didn't market a 1/72nd scale CANT Z.1018 kit, would had rounded out my collection of CANT bombers, oh well again!

Really long shot Hail Mary - but who knows maybe someone hasn't gotten to it and never will . . .

Alpha Flight CANT Z.1007 Alcione
RCR Fiat Cr.25 RCR017
Alitaliane Savoia-Marchetti SM.84 48002
Alitaliane Savoia-Marchetti SM.85 48001

PM me . . .
Early 2000s RCR Models had marketed a 1/72 scale SM.85 but never found any for sale, seems to have been a one-off, no other issues by them or anybody else since that I know of. I didn't start Internet searches for 1/72nd scale Regia Aeronautica Italiana (RAI) kits till c.2005-6, mostly those I'd built during the 1960s & 1980s though bought an "Octopus" Pavla IMAM Ro.43 kit off eBay it being amongst my first 21st Century RAI builds. Alas it was a total failure, didn't have skills yet to properly construct it, did so over decade later along with their Ro.44 & Aviation USK Ro.43 kits they amongst my best biplane builds.

I am honing my skills with resin before I attempt the Cant Z.1007 or the SEM SM84. The kits are way too special to rush into either without really being ready for them. Other builders that have posted here have seet a pretty high standard and I won't be satisfied with less than that.

The more time that passes the less llkely the chance to run into the RCR 1.48 Cr.25. I will keep looking but it will an exceptionally rare event to find one not built or hidden away in someone's "TODO" stash.

it not Italian - but consider it practice for the tougher stuff....

I wound up having to close the gunner's canopy - I didn't realize the kit sets the gun inside the cockpit and couldn't pass thru the guns with the gun sights . . . poor planning on my part . . . so I hid a lot of detail ...

mostly I need more airbrush time - with my new airbrush acquisition . . .
