A Meridionali Ro.37 bis 'Lince' has been found if Afghanistan & is being returned to Italy for restoration and exhibitiom..
'Lince' means 'Lynx'
The plane is variously called an IMAM Ro.37 bis, Meridionali Ro.37 bis, or just Ro 37 bis.
INAM is 'Industrie Meccaniche Aeronautiche Meridionali '

A good reference for anyone without good books is Wikipedia under IMAM Ro.37
Another good reference is from our Stormo !:
http://www.stormomagazine.com/ModelArti ... DS_1a.html

There is a story on the subject of the Afghanistan plane at:
http://milano.corriere.it/milano/notizi ... 4701.shtml

Google translation can make sense of most of it, for people like me who are deficient in Italian..
There are some Englist language references about the story, (including photos) which Google turns up, on entering the names mentioned above.

Thanks Jim, this is an excellent post. I recall when the plane was first found in Afghanistan. Its incredible what they were able to achieve in this restoration, given the condition of the original find!

Hello All,
That very airplane has been fully restored and was unveiled at the Volandia Park and Museum of Flight at Malpensa, near Milan, a couple of days ago!

That's amazing! How wonderful that the plane has been restored. And what a job they did, I remember the photos of the frame that was found in Afghanistan. To go from that to this!

Best wishes,
Brendan

Magnifico lavoro di restauro, anche se a mio avviso รจ stato commesso un errore in quanto il velivolo riprodotto fa riferimento ad un 1^ serie con abitacolo di diversa forma.
