With Special Hobby releasing their Breda 65 A80 in SCW markings I decided to try and put together a list of fuselage codes for the K14 and A80 versions. The only A80 I was able to identify through a photo was 16-35. Lots of box art errors and artist’s profiles on the web. Anyone know the breakdown of how many K14 and A80 were in the 23 total delivered? I also found it interesting that 16-41 was a K14 as it seems out of sequence with the others.

Just a note, there are two rear-side photos of Fanali's machine 16-18 (K14), one with him next to the plane. One of the photos is in Paolo Carli's article. The profile of 16-18 is by the late Angelo Brioschi. Fanali (an Italian Ace later on in WWII) also flew 65-23 (K14) in combat. 65a Sq. Ba.65s should also be added to the list above for completeness.

There are decals for two subjects, 16-18 and 16-35, as on the box art. The thing to note first is that 16-18 was a K14, not an A80 as in the box art/kit. Also the camo for 16-35 is not accurate, use the photo Charlie provided above. And finally the nomenclature on the box is slightly inaccurate, "Breda 65A-80" was the Breda 65 A80; A80 denoting the name of the engine installation.

From a modelers point of view if you're looking to build an accurate SCW Ba.65 using this kit, build 16-35 and note the camo in the photo above.
