Hasegawa 1/48th Macchi C.202 Folgore flown by Adriano Visconti

Post by davenport49 » Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:12 am

This is the Hasegawa 1/48th Macchi C.202 Folgore, representing MM.7944 flown by Adriano Visconti, 86a Squadriglia, 7° Gruppo, 54° Stormo, Pantelleria, June 1942. This continues my project of exemplifying combatants in the Battle of Malta. On 13 August 1942 on a reconnaissance flight over Malta, Visconti shot down two Spitfires and damaged two
others, for which he was awarded a Medaglia d'Argento al Valor Militare.

Nice job Richard, the Breda scheme is a hard scheme to do. Send in a write-up.

It was an interesting challenge. You have to thin the Verde Oliva Scuro just right so you don't get puddles or spiders, turn the pressure WAY down, get really close, and keep wiping the build-up off the tip. It didn't turn out perfectly, but I'm pleased.

Another way to apply that style of camo is to use masks.
