S 81 and BR 20 colors

Post by James A Pratt III » Mon Apr 20, 2009 4:52 pm

when I have the time I am going to build 1/72 scale S 81 and BR 20 kits in the following paint schemes:
S 81 PS Italian Yellow 3 with green or green and brown blochs for an aircraft in NA or the balkens 1940-41
BR 20 PS Italian yellow 3 with green and brown blochs

Are these schemes okay? advise requested.

Hi James,
Use the color guide on this site to help you find the appropriate color and caomuflage schemes. Scroll down the Color Guide to the CMPR color and camouflage chips and do a search on Br.20 annd SM.81. Also check the Gallery. Giallo Mimetico 3 was supplied to Fiat by Arson-Sisi. Here are a few profiles to help you:

Great references again! I think it would behoove* me to expand my library of color profile books. I tend to purchase only the books for subjects that I am considering building or have models of on the shelf. I think it would be useful since there seems to be a cross over of paint schemes, insignia placement, and other detail incidentals that would greatly enhance a wider knowledge of the subject.

*Behoove = an obscure English language word meaning in my best interests.
