Terrible doubts.....working in progress CR42 "Visintini

I start to give interpretation to three mottled scheme of CR 42 of Visintini Italian Ace.

Using "Vitocharts" and Federal standard book, I mix color corresponding the scheme (Giallo mimetico3; Verde mimetico2; Marrone mimetico2)....this is the result I have.....

It seems very different from color profiles I saw around.....wath do you think about....should I reconsider the specks shape?? And Colours???

I had the same problem with Giallo mimetico 3; the solution, in my opinion, was given to me by Thomas Abbondi who, in a Editoriale of his magazine, explained the problem just speaking of a model of mine; his suggestion was to de-saturate the colors: for istance i mixed the Giallo with some drops of brown and the effect of the color began more natural; furthermore, in my opinion, the mottles have to be more thick, sometimes green overpainting brown, to hide more the background yellow; that is my opinion; let me have your opinion and also, please, tell me where can I find the tool you used to correct Cr42 fabric fuselage

Ciao Davide;It is a very difficult task to try to duplicate an Italian three colors scheme. One of the main reason is that there is no pattern to follow but many patterns instead. A second reason is the fact that the shade of the color CANNOT be the same as the tinlet gives you, because of the scale. The Giallo or the Verde can be be straight shades for a 1/1 aircraft, they have to be lighter for a 1/48th model. If you look at the color profile in Alid'Italia camouflages and markings for the CR-42, the artist gave a quite good rendition of visentini aircraft, and if I had to paint a CR42 like this, I will scan the profile to have a constant reference to guide my airbrush so as to keep in line with the picture.There is not so much Giallo left between the blotches, and there is also a personal pattern that the painter of the aircraft used without thinking of it, making it unique. This is the secret of a "real" camo: find the spirit of the blotches! You can also have some trials with different patterns on some left over plasticard, take some pics, transform them in black and white and check the one that looks "true" to you! Quite the opposite of what you have done; voilà Davide, I hope I have helped, ciao, jean.

Thank you to everybody....I recieve similar reply also in Italy, so I decide to make some correction to work I done.....first of all, I spryed more green speacks and smoot more de edge of that.....second, I spryed again on brown speacks in the same way, in that way I have less yellow surfaces and more green areas. The general wiew of colours now is different.....at the end I compare a modified photo of my model (in black and wite) to the original one I have....that' s look exactly in a way I looking for!!!
