Greetings.
Back in June of 1970 I had the honor of jumping into northern Italy with one of your Italian
Airborne units. I think they were Alpini but I could be wrong. We were guest at their fort for a few
days then we had a Red Alert and had to fly back to Frankfurt Airport to prepare for a jump into
Beruit during the Black September crises. My unit was the 509th Airborne. We were the Pathfinder
unit for the 82nd Airborne Division. When your troops saw my name on my uniform they treated
me like GOLD. I salute you my friend.

Hi Vincent, Thanks for all the nice information on the Italian items. Here in South Africa information regarding Italian and Alfa stuff are rare. Most sources only have the run of the mill stuff. As I am an advanced and keen collector of Alfa Romeo cars, trucks, planes and related stuff, I am always on the lookout for new information. Hi, I found your page by accident and am really impressed at the detail on paints and camouflage schemes provided. Modelling WW2 schemes was always a challenge, especially pre air-brush, but a reasonable presentation was achieved - they even looked at home against the Libyan desert at RAF El Adem in 1969. Modelling has taken a back seat to illustrating, I have yet to do any WW2 Italian aircraft but the info on patterns and colours would make that work easier. Great Job. David

I'm interested in the fighter "Fiat CR32". I knew the fighter for the first time when I happened to read the article about the attack to Guernica in Spain. When I read the passage "The Italian fighters and Messerschmitt fighters were bombing in the small town in Basque area", I was eager to see Fiat Fighters, and searching for the fighter through Internet. My first impression when I have seen it is that "Fiat" is very beautiful as if it were a European noblewoman. I have been feeling like making and flying itsince then.

Great site. My father was in the Italian Airforce during WWII and was stationed in North Africa, Pantelleria, and Northern Italy with the 4 Stormo. His exploits are chronicled on Ken Arnolds website (see guestbook for link). When I was a kid growing up I thought that I was the only person in the country who loved Italian aviation. Back then, in the '60s, it was nearly impossible to find an Italian WWII model aircraft kit. What a difference 40 years makes! While I haven't built a model airplane in quite some time I still have a passion for the hobby. I'm glad to see that there are now many more people than I interested in Italian aviation! Dear Vince, Thanks for the nice info. I live far away from the Itlian source. I am a collector of Alfa Romeo models - cars, trucks and other items. I have just started to collect aeroplanes 1/48 scale that have Alfa Romeo engines. I am also a model builder of the Alfa Romeo's scale 1/43. Very near the 1/48 scale planes. I sell my hand crafted Alfa's to advance collectors all over the world. I am busy making Italian Air Force trucks from 1931 to 1986 [Alfa's] that will be employed with my aeroplane models, should there be other collectors, I can supply to them. Fantastic site! You've done a great job Vince. It has been very difficult for me to find a site dedicated to the great Italian Air Force that, in my opinion, has been vastly underrated.
